Here V refers to 'Very', S refers to 'Slight' and I refers to 'Inclusion'; thus VVS1 means very very slight inclusion, and must be better than SI1 (Slightly included). It is recommeded to use VS2 or higher EGL clarity rating. Now comes Carat. Carat refers to weight of the diamond. 1 Carat equals to 200 milligrams (or 1/5 of a gram). So our basic lession is over.
